South London's Baggio releases an ambient remix of their gently bobbing ballad 'Dead Weights' by ambient electronic producer seafood diet. Under seafood diet's supervision the track is completely transformed from sounding like a lost Silver Jews track into shimmering minimal ambience, as if the song has been spread wide across a vast expanse, focusing in on the tones and textures deep between the notes. seafood diet describes their approach to the remix, “as a dedicated baggio head, i was very familiar with dead weights and it’s earworm of a riff, so i knew i wanted this to be the focal point of my remix. after trying out a few different directions, i settled on this blissed out granular repetition a la eno’s deep blue day, got the vocals nice n wispy and used a bass guitar to hold it all together." An interesting collaboration between two great artists, be sure to check out their other work and keep your ears to the ground for the highly anticipated Baggio album. - Toby Evans-Jesra
